Watching your child transition from toddlerhood to preschool is a milestone full of excitement, wonder, and perhaps a few bittersweet emotions. Moving into a bigger classroom with new teachers and fresh daily routines is a major step in your child's early childhood journey and we are so honored to walk alongside your family during this time.
As educators, our main priority during these first few weeks isn't rushing into anything. Instead, our goal is to build deep trust, establish a safe and welcoming space, and make sure your child feels completely secure, seen, and cared for in their new classroom environment.
Connecting with new teachers is at the heart of a happy classroom transition. Morning drop-off time can feel emotional for both you and your child. Tearful goodbyes are completely normal as your child processes this big change. We will do our very best to greet you upon arrival and help make it as smooth as possible. Here are a few tips:
Keep Goodbyes Brief and Confident: Prolonging departure can sometimes make children feel more anxious. If your child is upset, reassure them that you love them and will return for pickup time, and hand them off confidently to a teacher.
Create a Loving Goodbye Ritual: Establish a quick, predictable routine, such as big hugs, a secret handshake, or a special window wave. Predictability builds confidence. Missing home is a completely normal part of this transition. If tears happen, we don't rush to distract; instead, we offer comforting reassurance.
Our preschool room is intentionally arranged to spark curiosity and support growing independence while offering comfort when things feel overwhelming. We will take the time to observe what sparks your child’s joy, such as building block towers , painting, sensory and science, and join in their play to build strong, caring bonds on their terms.
