As we begin the new preschool year, the children are gradually settling into their new environment and becoming familiar with the classroom, routines, educators, and other children. Each child is adjusting in their own way and building a sense of belonging and security. We are noticing children beginning to make connections with their educators by seeking help, joining conversations, and sharing their interests. They are also starting to build friendships with their peers through play, sharing toys, taking turns, and participating in group activities.
During this time, children are developing their social and emotional skills as they learn to express their feelings, manage small challenges, and feel more confident in the classroom. Their communication and language skills are growing as they talk with educators and friends, listen to one anothers, and learn new words. Through exploring the classroom, playing with different materials, and taking part in activities, children are also developing their thinking and problem-solving skills. Fine and gross motor skills are supported through drawing, building, outdoor play, and hands-on experiences.
It is wonderful to see the children becoming more comfortable each day. As they develop relationships and feel a sense of belonging, they are becoming more confident, independent, and ready to learn. We look forward to supporting their friendships, curiosity, and learning as they continue their preschool journey.
